Broomstick Farm is a certified organic vegetable and seed farm focused on growing resilient, top-quality garlic and flavorful produce for the greater puget sound community of growers, makers, and eaters.
the three broomsticks
Broomstick Farm's three farmer-partners Sami Burse, John Bonsted, and Maia Binhammer met while working on other farms locally in Skagit and Whatcom counties. Over conversations in the kale beds and coffee breaks in the radish fields, they dreamt up their own collaborative farm venture.
The farm is a joint endeavor that seeks to build upon the skills and expertise each farm partner has accrued over a collective 18+ years of organic farming experience. Broomstick Farm espouses a collaborative, sustainable, and community-focused approach to agriculture and business.
Our Growing Practices
We are Certified Organic via WSDA Organic.
We know healthy soil creates healthy, happy plants, and we prioritize plant health as the first and foremost defense against pest and disease pressure. We seek to steward the land we grow on with care and with the larger ecosystem in mind.
What We Grow
We specialize in garlic (5 varieties) and peppers (10+ varieties) for wholesale markets, but that’s not all! We also grow herbs, pie pumpkins, scallions, shallots, arugula, napa cabbage, peas, cucumbers, and chard.
